Painting Among the Pines: Birds of NJSOC

This painting captures the quiet, winter charm of one of the New Jersey School of Conservation’s most beloved year-round residents: the Chickadee. A meticulously detailed Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus), known for its unique call and its brave, curious personality that delights hikers on the NJSOC trails.
Set against a soft, ethereal background of muted earth tones and glowing light, this piece highlights the delicate balance between the rugged wilderness of the trails that make up the NJ School Conservation and the fragile beauty of its inhabitants.
