Introduction to Ice Fishing

Curious about ice fishing but not sure where to begin? Join us for an introductory ice fishing program designed especially for beginners. We’ll provide all the bait and equipment—you just bring your curiosity and sense of adventure.
The program begins with about one hour of classroom instruction, covering essential topics such as ice safety, ice formation, fish behavior in cold water, and the basic equipment and techniques used in ice fishing. Afterward, we’ll head out onto the ice at Lake Wapalanne for about an hour and a half of hands-on practice, where you’ll get to try what you’ve learned with guidance from experienced instructors.
Any fish caught will be measured, photographed, and safely released. For safety and consistency, only the equipment provided by the program may be used.
Inclement weather date: February 1
Please note: The class will be rescheduled or canceled if ice conditions are deemed unsafe.
Come learn the basics, build confidence on the ice, and enjoy a fun winter experience in a safe, supportive setting!
