Despite rain, wind, winter like temperatures, and a power outage, the Friends’ Open House was a HUGE success. Thirty-nine stalwart souls braved the elements and joined us on tours, participated in rock art, learned about turtle research and even went boating. It was such fun to greet and spend time with old friends, past SOC staff, several of our advisors, and new friends who had never been to SOC before. Thank you for stopping by.
Special thanks to Bridget White, our volunteer boating instructor for enduring a day in the cold rain; Hofstra University Professor Tom Duchack who discussed his turtle research; MJ Davis for leading the rock art class, and intern Ben Weintraub for handling registration.
We are grateful to each of you for your FRIENDship. Looking forward to seeing you even more FRIENDS at future NJSOC programs and on June 26 for our Forest Fun Day with many more activities.
