A Gift from Friends
We wanted to give our friends and members an opportunity to participate in the completion of the John J. Kirk Memorial Kiosk on Piney Point. The structure has been delivered and officers and members are working on finalizing the content that will be displayed there. The next step is to order the bronze plaque that will dedicate the kiosk to the legacy of Dr. Kirk.
Since Dr. Kirk was the Director of the School of Conservation for more than half of its 70-year history, chances are he is part of your memories of the School and/or Camp Wapalanne. As a final tribute to Dr. Kirk, we thought those who love the school might appreciate the opportunity to contribute a small amount towards the purchase of this plaque, essentially making it a gift from all of us to the memory of Dr. Kirk.
If you would like to participate, the Friends officers are suggesting a contribution of $15.00. In addition, we are offering a one-year individual membership in the Friends of NJSOC if you choose to add an extra $10.00 to your memorial plaque gift (total of $25.00).
Donations can be made through Paypal using the link below (this can be done with a credit card; a Paypal account is not necessary) or by check made payable to the Friends of NJSOC and mailed to:
