Job Opening – Environmental Educator (Part-Time)

The Friends of the New Jersey School of Conservation (FONJSOC) unites people from all walks of life whose lives have been influenced through participation in programs at the School of Conservation. Our members are teachers, university professors, researchers, former students, environmental educators, former campers and counselors, and friends representing more than half a century of New Jersey School of Conservation (NJSOC) experiences.

Middle school science teacher, KC Bree, understands the positive and impactful influence that NJSOC has on children when they visit campus to have a hands-on learning experience. Bree is now calling upon lawmakers in Trenton to do what they can to support SOC and it’s future. Read more about it at NJ.com

We are doing all that we can to ensure that our request for $3 million is fully funded by the state. Full funding will allow us to continue operating as staff, upgrading facilities, and providing environmental education to teachers and students across NJ. Read about it at SpartaIndependent.com

For school students and teachers across NJ, there are many impactful and valuable experiences to be had here at SOC. For physical education teacher, Bob LoCantore, it was disheartening to learn that we will be facing a 60% budget cut from the state, and is now calling upon the Governor’s office for action. NJ School of Conservation a resource for educators

We are not only excited to offer programming to students following our reopening, but to teachers as well. By adapting our teacher programs to meet the state’s new climate change curriculum, and introducing social and emotional lessons into our student programs, we hope to help meet the changing needs of 21st century education.
