SUMMARY:2023 Spring Fling  Archery Course (3 Sessions) for  Children ages  8 -14
DESCRIPTION:Explore Archery! Course consists of 3 Saturday sessions that will include basic archery skills\, fun drills\, and archery games.\n\n\nYou pull back the bowstring. You stare downrange at the bullseye. Release! The arrow flies away and plunges into the target. Bullseye! \nJoin the fun! Participants will be taught by USA Archery certified instructors. We will have you flinging arrows in no time. Be advised\, archery is great fun and habit-forming! No experience or equipment necessary! \nThis workshop series is open to children(ages 8-14) and all participants must register in advance. There will be a total of three sessions consisting of 60 minutes classes on three consecutive Saturdays. \nThe sessions will be: \n\nSaturday\, June 3rd @ 10 am – 11 am \nSaturday\, June 10th @ 10 am – 11 am \nSaturday\, June 17th @ 10 am – 11 am \n\nEach Saturday class will include both instruction and supervised open shooting practice time. Participants who complete the program will be able to easily transition into any archery program. \nRuth and John Goralski are Level 3 Instructor/Trainers with USA Archery. They are also past PA state champions. \nIf you have any difficulty with the registration process\, please let us know so we can help! Contact us at info@njsoc.org. \nPlease note: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not allowed on the NJ School of Conservation Campus. \nRefund Policy/Inclement Weather: \nYour event fee\, minus Eventbrite Fees\, is fully refundable if cancelled 7 or more days before the event. In the case of a multi-day event\, you must cancel 7 or more days before the first day of the event. Registration fees are not adjusted and no partial refunds are given if you cannot attend all days of the event. \nWhile we appreciate being notified if you are unable to attend an event\, refunds are not given for cancellations within 7 days of the event. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, participants will be notified if a session will not be held as scheduled. A session cancelled due to bad weather will be made up by adding time to the following session. \nIf we must cancel an event\, your registration fee\, including Eventbrite fees\, will be refunded.

DESCRIPTION:Give your child an amazing day of fishing in beautiful Lake Wapalanne! They might even win a prize!\n\n\nThis fun fishing event is open to all youth (17 & younger). Spend some quality time fishing with your family at Lake Wapalanne. Your child will need to bring their own fishing gear. Registered youth participants may be eligible to receive prizes for the fish they catch during the event. (Youth must be present at the end of the event to be awarded prizes.)  \nNOTE: Fishing licenses are required for anyone ages 16+.  Please go to the online link here for NJ fishing license purchase/renewal. \nPlease note- Space is limited and registration in advance is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pets are not permitted.  \nThis event is sponsored by NJDEP Fish & Wildlife’s Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs Program and hosted by the Friends of NJSOC. SUMMARY:Forest Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:Experience the magic that can only be found at the NJ School of Conservation during a day of fun in the forest.\n\n\nThis event is all about community and fun! \nBring your family (or not!) and your lunch and stay for a few hours\, or spend the whole day! Pick and choose from some of our most popular activities at SOC including archery\, boating\, family hiking essentials\, Fiber fun\, campcraft\, and rock painting. Bring your own fishing gear and fish in the lake (Valid NJ fishing license required for anglers 16+; catch and release only). Collect a stamp for each activity you complete and earn a chance to win some NJSOC prizes if you participate in every experience!  \nAs the day winds down\, we invite you to gather around the campfire* to share stories of your adventures while enjoying some s’mores. No visit to the SOC would be complete without a campfire and smore’s\, and there’s just something about a campfire that kindles friendships! \n*if permitted by current state forest fire restrictions \nThis is a rain or shine event! Activities are subject to change. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the event. Dogs are not permitted at SOC programs.  \nRefund Policy:  Your event fee\, minus Eventbrite Fees\, is fully refundable if cancelled 7 or more days before the event.
