SUMMARY:Forest Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:Bring your friends and family for a day of adventure and FUN in the FOREST!\n\n\nExperience the magic of the NJ School of Conservation as you foster a love of nature and build a sense of community with old and new friends in the outdoors. \nDuring your visit you will participate in experiential activities in the outdoors such as: boating\, fishing\, archery\, rock painting\, iPhone photography and hikes. Upon arrival you will have the opportunity to select several activities in which to participate. As an added bonus Dolly Jingles Ice cream truck will stop by with cold treats to purchase! \nThe gate will be open at 9 am for your check-in and program selections. Please allow plenty of time for travel and arrival (traffic can be heavy on Saturday morning); our Welcome and Orientation will begin promptly at 10:00 am. Individual activities will begin to wrap up around 4 pm as we gather around the campfire at Piney Point with our Storyteller for a special ending. \nIn case of rain\, this event will be postponed to Sunday\, August 14th\, and participants will be notified in advance. Scheduled activities subject to change. \nWhat to Bring \n– Lunch\, snacks\, and reusable water container (there are no food or beverages available) \n– No glass bottles allowed \n– Insect repellent/sunscreen/hat/cap (prefer pump spray or towelettes over aerosol bug spray) \n– Camp chair/picnic blanket \n– Closed toed shoes or sneakers (they may get wet) \n-Fishing rod/reels\, freshwater tackle and a valid NJ fishing license for ages 16 and over. (obtained at the link below) \n https://www.njfishandwildlife.org/fishneed.htm \n-Money for the ice cream truck! \nPlease note: No pets are allowed on the NJ School of Conservation Campus. \nRefund Policy: \nYour event fee\, minus Eventbrite Fees\, is fully refundable if cancelled 7 or more days before the event. While we appreciate being notified if you are unable to attend an event\, refunds are not given for cancellations within 7 days of the event. For events that are weather-dependent\, a rain date/reschedule date is included in the event description. We do not offer refunds if an event is rescheduled for the specified date. If we must cancel an event\, your registration fee\, including Eventbrite fees\, will be refunded. \nThe Friends of the New Jersey School of Conservation is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. When NJSOC closed in July 2020\, the Friends launched a campaign to save it. This ultimately led to negotiations with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection\, owners of NJSOC\, to obtain an interim management agreement for the School. This agreement was finalized in April 2021\, and the Friends of NJSOC are proud to offer limited programming at NJSOC with the help of dedicated and talented volunteers. We are pleased to register you for one of our programs!
